FAQs
Using Steradol
How do I use the Steradol stain pen?
Blot away any excess first. Press the tip onto the stain to release the formula, then gently dab and rub until the mark lifts. Reapply if needed. For the best result, treat the stain as soon as it happens.
What stains does it remove?
Everyday fresh stains such as coffee, tea, red wine, chocolate, ketchup, pasta sauce, fruit juice, make-up, ink and most food and drink spills. It is made for quick spot-cleaning on the go, not deep-set or heavy industrial stains.
Does it work on old, dried-in stains?
Steradol works best on fresh stains. Older or set-in marks may only lift partially or need repeat treatment, and results cannot be guaranteed once a stain has dried or been through the wash.
Fabrics and safety
Is it safe on all fabrics?
It is gentle on most everyday washable fabrics, but it is not suitable for silk, leather or 'dry clean only' items. Always test on a small hidden area first, such as inside a seam or hem, before treating a stain.
Will it damage colours or bleach my clothes?
Steradol is bleach-free, but it may cause a colour change on some fabrics. Always test on a hidden area before use, and remove any excess solution before exposing the item to sunlight.
What is in it, and is it safe on my skin?
Steradol is dermatologically tested, vegan and cruelty-free. Ingredients: water, alcohol, alkyl polyglycoside, tetrasodium EDTA, citric acid and styralyl acetate. It is an eye irritant, so avoid contact with eyes and keep out of reach of children.
Results and aftercare
Do I still need to wash the garment afterwards?
Steradol lifts the visible stain instantly so you can carry on with your day. For a full clean, wash the item as normal according to its care label when you are next able to.
What if the stain does not fully lift?
Reapply and gently work the area again. For stubborn stains, treat them and then launder as soon as you can. Acting fast always gives the best result.
On the go
How big is it, and will it fit in my bag?
Yes. Steradol is a slim, handbag-sized pen made to live in your bag, desk drawer, car or pocket, ready for stain emergencies wherever you are.
Can I take it on a plane?
Yes. At just 9ml, the pen sits well within the 100ml hand-luggage liquid limit, so it is perfect for travel. Pop it in your bag for spills on the move.
How should I store it, and how long does it last?
Keep the cap on between uses and store at room temperature, away from direct heat and sunlight. Unopened, the pen has a shelf life of around three years.
